Blind and Deaf Program in Wogdie

The facilities used by the Blind and Deaf Program are located on the premises of a local school. Consequently some of the blind students are able to attend classes with their non-disabled peers. Two of these students are the best pupils in their particular class! In Ethopia, there is virtually no care facility for the disabled outside the capital Addis Ababa! Thanks to the support of our contributors, PfefferminzGreen is happy to offer these people a chance at better living conditions.

Since 2009 PfefferminzGreen offers support to the Blind and Deaf Program in Wogdie. 42 handicapped now have the possibility to attend school. PfefferminzGreen finances teachers well versed in sign language to educate these people in Braille as well as in the use of white canes, in order to make it easier for them to cope with challenges faced in daily life.
