All artists listed here have contributed their work, time and talent to PfefferminzGreen on a free-of-charge basis. We are thankful that our optimistic nature has found a soul mate in every single one of them. What goes around comes around. In a positive sense.
Bagga
Had no shoes when we met him in a studio in Cape Town, since they were washed away from his shack by one of the Western Cape´s winterly showers. Great voice, great heart. Talent often lacks the means.
Fletcher Beadon
Cape Townian DJ legend & producer. Has been releasing on African Dope Records since I don´t know. His passion for music has taken him all over the world, from outdoor parties in Zambia and Malawi to festivals and clubs all over Europe. Over the years he has played alongside many, including Goldie, Massive Attack, The Freestylers, Seeed & DJ Vadim.
Alex Bozas
Plays guitar for Benguela. Photographic artist. Lives next to the penguins in Kaalk Bay/South Africa.
Catenia
Regarded as the grande dame and voice of Frankfurt´s sensitive music scene. Kunze´s love of a life-time.
Charly Cyris, the eclectic artist
Charly lives and works in Frankfurt as graphic designer and head of "we
are you* - bureau for visual communication"
www.weareu.de. Also known and feared for his raging sleepless and delirium house division parties, he has for over a decade fostered Frankfurts electronic music culture both as DJ and promoter. Favourite colour: "Unbunt" Green
Marcus Darius
Pure example of how modesty can turn out to be the joker up a sleeve. Plays in Shantel´s Bucovina Club. Produces D-Flame, Tone, Riddim Wize etc. One of the good guys.
Jacques Deebee
Confesses after five-and-a-half schnapps that he´s the grand-grand-grand-grand-grand-son of Jacques Rousseoux. Rips (!) his double bass.
Xander Ferreira
In our opinion, his South African band Gazelle is going to roll over Europe´s dancefloors any time now. This message is for real, so seriously get ready for it. As he is also a gifted commercial photographer, we are proud to have captured his talent for the cover-shoot of PfefferminzGreen´s Jana Josephina Remakes vinyl. Cheers Xander!
fLako
Chile born and now living in both Berlin and London, fLako is one of Europe’s top producers at the moment. Whoever you ask within this beat world will give you the same answer. His take on the Robot Koch produced track with Cerebral Vortex on vocal duties has been championed by Gaslampkiller, Hudson Mohawke and many more and even got labeled ‘track of the year’ by Jay Scarlett. Damn right so. Ever since fLako keeps on making waves always bringing you something surprising, be it with a contribution to Gilles Peterson’s Bubblers Compilation, his 30 track heavy Beattape ‘First Spaceshit On The Moon’, unofficial remixes or productions for Shuanise or Amenta.
Franziskus
Dutch artist and designer with old-school techniques. Brings back the classics to sleeve-design. Stella´s papa.
Derek Gripper
"A vital presence in the international guitar world" is what Grammy Award winner Paul Galbraith said about Derek. Matze says that Paul is right. Steen says that Matze thinks that it’s quite flashy to call a Grammy Award winner by his first name. Anyhow, Stella really likes Derek, because he is so gentle, laid-back and child-loving. We all agree.
Simon Horn
Renowned chef. A true artist when it comes to food and gastronomic experience. The guy behind Seven Swans. Very thin. I've seen him wear one of those tight striped sailor shirts and it reminded me of the un-gay version of the D&G male sailor model on crack. In a positive way of course. Enjoy your meals on

Ralf Hildenbeutel
Ralf used to produce Sven Väth. He now concentrates on his own beautiful compositions. He also runs a small, but fantastic label calles Rebecca & Nathan (www.rebecca-and-nathan.com).
Joash
This congenial, London-based, young man puts a smile on my face, while writing this. His orchestral future pop compositions are deep and yet kind, complicated and yet simple, perfectly disciplined and yet hopelessly kittenish. From now on future pop is bright.
Johnwaynes
From their first releases, up to now, the Johnwaynes have produced under the same guise, a widely diverse body of work, from simple and minimalist acid house, to full-on orchestra oriented classics, with the occasional drift into the more elegant territories of boogie and disco-funk. From Japans Mule Electronique, to the ominous and legendary Compost, and Londons now seminal Dissident, amongst many other outputs, Johnwayness DJ Jepe and António Bastos have had a prolific run since 2005, from the onset of their recording career.
Jana Josephina
Although this singer and actress is swiss made, Jana Josephina fortunately found her way to Frankfurt. We think her vocals are soft and sensitive like eyelashes tearing moments apart with every blink of an eye. Sadly, her daughter Milla and we think that her cooking skills are quite mediocre at best.
Righard Kapp
Produces electronica solely working on a six-string amplified guitar and a modular delay. Illustrates South African childrens´ books.
Kartini & Ihr PfefferminzSoul Ballet
Kwaito/HipHop-Project based in Frankfurt and Cape Town. Brings together the best of German NuSoul/HipHop and Kwaito from the townships of the Western Cape. Conducted and produced by Kartini, an Indonesian princess.
Casey Keth
Purely gifted singer, songwriter, producer and instrumentalist from the boroughs of Frankfurt.
Andreas Lehnhoff
One of Pfrankfurt´s talented creative allrounders. Is known & respected for being able to pee over his own shoulder. He says the trick only works with the right amount of self-confidence. Just a split second of doubt can result in wet shoulders and public outrage.
Minus 8
Besides his solo-albums, Robert Jan Meyer, a.k.a. Minus 8, has appeared on compilations such as Café Del Mar, Hotel Costes, DJ Kicks etc. His unique production style has made us fans since way back in 2000, when he released Elysian Fields.
Ono
Charismatic mcee from Cape Town, who lives, writes and rhymes in Germany. We´e been true fans since way in the days back, when he was still doin´it with Walkin`Large, collaborating with The Roots and touring with Freundeskreis etc.
Marbert Rocel
Why write something new, if Marbert Rocel define it best themselves? ‘We compose music in major using chords in minor. We also like changing tires of monster trucks’. Catch A Bird, which appeared on Compost Records, is a must-have for every record collector.
Michael Rütten
Frankfurt's soul DJ legend. His Soulsearching Radio Show has continuously been providing the deep eclectic sounds for life. Thanks Michael. Oh, and by the way, my wife says, he's got a bit of a Richard Gere-look going on.
Simon Sibanda
Likes to cook chicken in his studio. Hugo Boss model. Raps in eSuthu. Wants to produce vinyl in Zimbabwe. Claims that Mugabe can kiss his XXX.
Sibot
Original Cape Townian beatjuggling that melts into an unidentifiable mixture of dub-step, drum n’ bass, kwaito, hip hop, downbeat and a small pinch of weltschmerz. As one half of The Real Estate Agents and as a part of The Constructus Corporation he is undoubtedly on our list of artists that have had a major influence on South Africa’s music scene.
Jörg Solzbacher
The ex-Pfrankfurter works in Munich as a graphic designer for the Treibstoff design company. His work is inspired by the writing culture and concentrates on type and illustration. Also got candy in his heels.
Michael Spengler
German filmmaker. Doesn´t own a mobile. Has a split-character (Michael vs. Judy). Judy can be quite a character.
Cassandra Steen
Cassandra probably won every award that is worthwhile winning, such as the MTV European Music Award, the Comet and the Echo. Her voice was part of a whole generation’s soundtrack to the good old times, when German hip hop was still innovative, intelligent and bouncing. Steen suggested marrying Cassandra, in order to be able to be called Mr. Steen Steen. However, neither Cassandra nor his wife Stella approve. What a shame.
Oliver Tamagnini
A fantastic photographer, who does not need our words to explain his conscious artistic approach. He bought drinks for everyone (including himself) during the SONGS FOR THE SWANS LEFT BEHIND release party. In exchange, he lost every memory of the evening. Thus, stay alert for our upcoming release SONGS FOR OLIVER'S MEMORY LEFT BEHIND.
